May not be their regular positions but I went undefeated the whole season on Allstar mode. To get some of the players on your team recommended New York Yankees because most of the players are on themyou need to trade some of your bad players mostly at the bottom of the roster to get some of the players listed.

In the middle of a critical play fly ball etc hit start and go to controller select. Select the other team and make them lose/miss the fly ball/walk 100 players in a row...
Or you could play as the red sox for a season and just play the other side every time so you can watch them go 0-162 :P
Also if you want a cheap season go to Options -> CPU game tuning and turn everything down except for error frequency-- turn that up and go to user game tuning and do the opposite. 100 homers for every player on your team by the end of the season. And a much better chance of pitching a perfect game :
