Hidden Town
Batlum is a hidden town that is only accessible with the White Ray. Fly over the west coast until you see a town with a stone building at the end and land there (place the birds shadow over the town and press [A]). In Batlum you can pick up some weapons, fight in a special arena, and try your hand at the "Maze of Trials" (watch out for holes in the floor!). .
The Amulet:
There is an awesome item hidden in the Maze of Trials. It is located in a chest on the first level, though you have to go down to the 4th level and back up through a different stairway to get to it. It is called the amulet, and monsters will totally ignore a character wearing it. This is especially effective when equipped on a character who has a powerful area-effect technique/spell but not much defense, such as Galford (Death Storm), Vargaas (Hell Fire, Magma Blast), etc.
Extra Quest:
Go to the place in the map (a little bit SW from the center) where it says you cant enter the forest. When you get this message, you should see a fortress in the distance. Enter the town a little bit to the south, and enter one of the civilian houses. Talk to the mother there, and she will ask that you rescue her kidnapped daughter. Exit the town and summon White Ray. Fly to the fortress, and exit White Ray from there. Enter the fortress and rescue the girl. Return to the girls mother, and you will find the girl is enamored of Raiko. Return to the house several times, and finally the girl will give an item (I cant find any use for it) to Raiko.
Easy Way to Move Characters
There is a easy way to move your characters. First go to battlum and go in the maze. Only take two party member in the maze. Then go down to the second crypt it is the stairs on the left as you go in the maze. Before you go down get Rakio kill. Now just go down the stairs. There they should be rock that you cant kill. Now just keep attacking the rock over and over. This will move up your characters skill level.
