Continue game playAfter a game is over, go to one player mode, then hold A and press Start . The game will resume at the last world played.
Extra lives
Play until world 3-1, then go to the stairs just before the flagpole. Two turtles will come down the stairs. Kill the first one and walk to the first block. Get right next to the block and wait for the second turtle. As it gets on the first block, jump on its head. If done correctly the turtle should be sitting on the first block with it head in its shell. Then, jump on the edge of the shell. Do this repeatedly to get extra lives. If this trick fails, return to the pit and fall, then try again.
On world 1-1, when you jump over all of the tubes, after the last one (where you have to jump over the first ditch), go to the back of the green hill in the background and jump. A box will appear with an extra life.
Missing Mario
Go to any Boss level, except for the final level. Make sure Mario is small when reaching the Boss. Jump on the small ax object so you hit Koopa (Boss) and the ax at the same instant. You will die but can continue on. Toad will talk as if you were there then the game will continue on without you losing a life.

Mario Brothers is the coolist game ever and I dont know if you know thim but there are some cool things you do not have listed on this page.
In mario brothers one whin you get tho the third level 1-3 go to the end of the level but do not go in the toob and dont worp instead stand on the very end of the toob that takes you the the end with the flag and stuf. stand on the very edge of the toob duck down and jump tords the wall this may take a long time keep doing this make sure that whin you are jumping mario is still duked you will slide thrue the wall and into the worp zone go in the first toob there wont be a number ubove it dont go past the first toob or the nubers will apear this takes you to a swiming world that keeps going its like a negative world. You probably know this but if you didnt good.
also a cool litle thing whin you go down a tube and than come back out hold b down and jump as soon as you come out of a toob and roll the direction pad in a counter clock wise diretion till you are holding forwards and mario will slide on one foot and stay on one foot untill you mess up and hit somthing or watever.
if you break bricks and keep walking forwards untill the briks you broke are a small crack inbetween the bricks and the end of the screen you can go back and jump up between the screen and bricks and mario will stick there and not fall back down if you keep jumping mario will climb to the top you can do this anywhere as long as you have the rite sise of crack.
whin you get to the end of a castle and there is a cloud thingy that flotes back and forth over koopa you can run and jump on it and slide on it from jumping fast whin you are duked jump again after while you are sliding stey duked whin you jump of the end of the floting thing you can sqeese inbetween the wall and the ax that lowers the bridge.
there is another level where you can get extra min as long as somthing comes down stairs you can jump on it and get extra min. also its the amount ov bad guys that you kill with one hit that gives you min theres a levil i think it is the first levil of sevin where if you hit the tirtle and follo him hi kills a lot of peopld and that gives you an extra man if you are bord like I get somtimes you can just fall in the first hole after you get youre extra man and do this over and over untill you roll the scor back to 0 just to say you rolled the score than go out side and run aroud youre house this adds to the efect.
any hoo theres a lot of things you can do in this game but I got to go so hopfully this helps.
