Extra Peasants
Use the following trick to get a lot of extra Peasants (more than the campfire limit of 24) for buying whatever kind of forces you need from the Mercenary Post or Barracks. For example, put your Quarries (3 Peasants each) and Oxen to sleep. There will be that many more in your available amount when buying Swordsman or something else. Then just turn them back on when you are done and they will go back to work. This works if you do not want to wait until your Peasants fill up your campfire again, or you just need them immediately.
Food management
It is easier to build, manage, and supply Inns rather than food because ale lasts longer. You can use the extra available farm space to build wheat fields and mills to make flour. Once you have flour, you can sell it for a profit or you can make bread and raise your taxes.
Selling weapons
You can sell crossbows for more than just wood and can sell swords for more than raw iron.
Archers
It is cheaper to buy archer bows and make Archers out of your barracks than it is to hire them from the mercenary post. They both have the same attack rate, defense rate, movement speed, and range.
General tips
If your having a difficult time completing a level, try the following tips:
Try building the basic castle needs, such as a Marketplace, Mercenary Post, Granary, Stockpiles, and Industry Buildings, then save there. It is easier to start at that point, in case your placement of some walls or towers do not work well.
Pause the game whenever you can to save time. It is very important to build faster than the enemy.
Keep your money making resources (Food, Rocks, Iron, Pitch, or Weapons) protected, or put walls around them to keep them safe. Capitalize on them whenever you can.
Create layers of walls around or in front of important towers and other targets that the enemy likes to knock down.
Horse archers are very useful in this game, especially when aggressing enemy castles with Mongonels to help put big holes in enemy walls and a few swordsman as guard dogs.
By immediately placing a group of Woodmans Huts around a enemy base, then putting them to sleep, you will block the area and prevent him from building Barracks or a Mercenary Camp. It costs a lot of Wood, but it means they cannot make any troops and therefore very easy to defeat. Note: This does not work on the pig.
When attacking a castle, concentrate on the enemy Barracks. Once destroyed, try to block it from being rebuilt by placing troops over its remains. Again, it makes the enemy easier to defeat without it producing more troops.
The Ballista is good at holding positions far from the security of your home base. Get a group of about eight built, with approximately twenty Archers and stick a couple Trebuchets in the middle of them. The Trebuchets can attack the enemy castle well protected. If needed, you can always take the six Engineers from them to make three more Ballista when the enemy counterattacks. Ballista are also great at taking out enemy troops on the castle walls, especially fire throwers.
On several levels there is very little farm land, but you always find at least one resource available (Stone or Iron). Concentrate on the mining and sell it at the market for Food.
Have both Archers and Crossbowmen on Towers (five each) for a good defense. Add a Ballista on the Tower to make it better as they have a huge range and can even hit attacking Trebuchets.
To protect farms, etc. outside your walls, build a Tower and a Gate next to each other. This allows you to put Archers in and have them protected from enemy soldiers entering the Tower. You could also destroy stairs to the tower once they are in, as an other option.
Pikemen are the best troops due to the combination of speed, defense and attack. Knights are far too slow to attack with, but make great defenders.
In the most difficult levels when the enemy comes at you very early, try to set up a trap. Build strong walls around your land except in one area. Leave an opening and have as many troops as possible covering that area. The enemy often ignore the undefended walls and go for your "weak spot'" Instead, they walk in to a wall of Ballista, Archer, and crossbow fire; and a few Knights for good measure. Do not forget your Lord is also a superb fighter that also can be used.
It is all a matter of timing. Organize waves of attacking troops, attack with one group, then send in reinforcements. When blocking the enemy from rebuilding its Barracks, your troops will not last long. While they do the blocking, have other sets attacking.

this game is so tight that it makes my mom pour breast milk into my mouth.
Heres a simple cheat if you want more than 5 archers or crossbaow men in a lookout tower then put the archers in groups of 5 then send the groups of 5 one by one up the lookout tower and you will eventually have about my favourit number is 30.
if someone could find cheats it would be great this game can get very hard and frustrating.

The shift alt cheats are for the first Stronghold game. Stronghold Crusader is th 2nd one. I cannot find any Crusader cheats.
i am getting mad now ... ive searched the net for crusaders cheats and found nothing except those sheats for stronghold 1
there are no cheats that work with this version. the makers cut all cheats out.
however if you use a trainer then you can cheat your way to the end like i have done. i am using cd ver 1 with a trainer from gamehacking.com use and enjoy
For the record... All games have cheats built into them so the developers can test the games once they have been created. While these cheats may not be exactly what you think they should be they are generally there. Just keep looking - perhaps youll find them Good Luck
at the begining of the game make about 25 to 40 assasins and send them to the enemies base straight away when they are weak
pause the game often it helps you to build as quick as the enemy.
if you get attacked early on in a game you should buy about 15 crossbowmen and build a square tower. the bowmen should fend of the attack leaving you with time to start your economy.

You dont need cheats. Play it over and over and youll get better at it.
stronghold crusader doesn t have right cheats yet because alt shift - is not cheat sow I think that cheats are words like money-or for food .- give me food --- sorry but try on editor ... to enter something . use your brane ..

k so all you kids are stuck hears a tip when you sart a game click death match and then and just abouve it there is a gold coin and there are circls to the left and right click as far left as you can suprize the computer will have 2000 and you will have 40000 then when you are on the game buld your normall stuff and then build a mercanry post and thene build 300 hores archers.
why horse archers you may ask beacase thay can run and shoot at the same time so as you get them into positian they will be safe and you can dodge catapults an arrows... but what i do is set them on patroll out side of the enamys base... cya

this isnt a cheat but it works on stronghold 2 press pause and click the delete ickon on the bottom right and delete any as maney times as you want building lets say an arrow makers if you delete it twice youu get two times the gold and three times three times the gold and wood ect. this works on all buildinges

som1 plz help i reely need some working cheats but i have a few tips on how to seige an enemy castle.
first put ox tethers on all of your opponents gatehouse to not let them out after a while they will have no food the u move in for the kill it should be relativly easy. and being an arabic lord is always harder than being a crusader lord. som1 plz find working cheats

To enable the cheats, go to the main menu, hold [Ctrl], and type "triblade2002" without the quotes (and while still holding Ctrl) (yes, I know that sounds like a fake activator, it isn't amazingly).
After the cheats are enabled (you will not receive any notification if they are), press the following keys during a game to activate certain cheats:
[Alt] + X: Raises popularity to 100 and gives 1000 gold. Can be held down for massive gold.
[Alt] + C: Unlocks all missions in the game
[Alt] + K: Makes it so when you build buildings, they do not use the resources they normally need. Be careful when activating this cheat, and try to hold alt and tap the K key once and very quickly. Holding down the K key for even a short time can cycle between activating and deactivating the cheat. Press [Alt] + K once more to deactivate the cheat.

Well I got the triblade to work once now it doesnt. Idk what i did but it just wont work. I hold CTRL then type triblde2002 then i load a map and hit {Alt] K nothing happens. i tried the quick thing 100 times shit doesnt happen.
i now the cheat! people all waiting for doo this at main menu hold ctrl than type triblade2002 than if you play only works ad new games not ad saved games press in game alt x for 1000gold! you can hold it whole time!
at main menu pres ctrl+triblade2000 altx still means the same and so does the altk

I have found a cheat that works :P in main menu hold ctrl i mean hold ctrl and type in: triblade2002. then go in game and hold alt and press x the u will get 1000 gold and full rep. have fun :D
